the act

of diffident morning

becomes

brazen fact.

 

Temper

Days are the forge

in which

I true myself;

I am smith

to human ore.

January morning —

a winter World Series

in my backyard:

Cardinals four,

Blue Jays two.

 

Calendar Trivia

On this day

the backhoe

that will dig my grave

was assembled

in Dearborn.
