International Basketball Team Looking For
Miss L.A. Lightning

Mark Harwell knew he was on to a good idea when he brought the Los Angeles Lightning, an International Basketball League Team, to the hoops-crazy City of Angeles. The entertainment industry producer and entrepreneur understood that the passion inspired by NBA teams like the Clippers and the Lakers could easily support a team with games that are active, high-energy, and full of athletic drama.
With all the right pieces in place, all the Lightning needs is the right spokeswoman. Enter Hollywood Casting Director, Pixie Monroe. "The experience of these games is exciting, fast-paced and unique," said Monroe, "so we're looking for an vivacious girl to represent the spirit of the organization."
With a 22 second shot clock, one timeout per team per quarter, and an immediate inbounds rule, International Basketball League games promise a nail-biting two hours of passing, blocking and constant back and forth scoring that will get even the most jaded fan off the bench and cheering.
"It's really a family friendly event," Monroe stated. "Miss L.A. Lightning will have to interact with the community on a much closer level than in most other sporting venues. We're planning outreach with local charities, performances by local musicians and player interactions both on and off the court. It's a demanding, high profile position and one that demands compassion as well as an understanding of community and the game." The Lightning are planning multiple exciting events throughout the season at their home court, the Gilbert Sports Arena in Thousand Oaks. Getting in on the action is as easy as logging on to www.lalightning.net, and with tickets starting at as little as six dollars a seat, whole families and groups will be able to get in on the game. For now, Harwell, Monroe and It Girl Public Relations are hot on the trail of an exceptional spokeswoman to represent a game that has finally come back to its roots. And as for Harwell, he's hoping Lightning will strike all season long.
