Old Settler's Music Festival

Austin, TX - Old Settler's Music Festival, scheduled for Sunday to Thursday, April 17th - 20th 2008, celebrates its 21rst year with the announcement of a partial lineup that includes the David Grisman Bluegrass Experience, bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mountain Boys, Grammy nominee Bettye LaVette, Texas troubadour Todd Snider, blue-eyed soul singer Martin Sexton, and blues great Charlie Musselwhite. Local favorites include Eliza Gilkyson, Terri Hendrix, Sara Jarosz and Flounders without Eyes. Jamband hipsters will love New Monsoon, the Infamous Stringdusters, Green Mountain Grass, the Waybacks, Brave Combo, and festival regular Peter Rowan. Festival-goers enjoy a variety of activities including performance workshops, a youth talent competition, unique artisans and vendors, rides and activities for children, a petting zoo and much more. Held in the gorgeous Texas Hill country, Old Settler's offers a laid back, Texas friendly atmosphere and a comfortable and spacious campground. Ed Crowell of The Austin American Statesman raved, "Who knew? Austin can throw a music festival, three stages, 25 acts, four days - minus suffocating crowds, lines for everything from admission to potties. No pressure of wristband versus badges or rushing to get to a stage in time to establish a sight line and find a patch of earth...Old Settler's is a festival that's found the perfect mix of acts, manageable crowds, April breezes along the banks of Onion Creek and music that dares to wear a happy face".
