Affirmation of a Submarine Empire
In the clairvoyant's vision of Atlantis
there are pedestals, columns
and fallen entablatures
in a deep sea scene without life.
That would be too much
like a movie property; everyone
knows that movies are fake.
If there is a real Atlantis
at the bottom of a real sea
it must look a lot like the castles
that people put in their aquariums
for the pleasure and mystification
of the disbelieving goldfish.
