Caesar – More than just a salad!

Yes, they're well and truly back again in Rome for another summer season. For the last six years now the English-language theatre group, the Miracle Players, has been putting on very tongue-in-cheek, yet informative plays in English in the heart of the Ancient City. Using the words of classic Latin writers, the author, Denise McNee, has come up with a new show seasoned with the usual mix of humour, satire and wit that tells of the facts and myths of Julius Caesar and of the times of old. "Caesar – More than just a salad!" will be performed al fresco at the Roman Forum every Tuesday and Friday from June 15 to August 13, 2004 at 7:30 pm. Nello scenario suggestivo del tramonto, tra i ruderi dei fori Romani, rivive il fascino immortale del passato con il nuovo spettacolo del gruppo teatrale inglese, The Miracle Players. Il testo, scritto dall'autrice Denise McNee, è basato sugli scritti di Svetonio, Cassio Dione, Shakespeare, ed altri, e racconta in chiave ironica la vita e gli ambizioni di Giulio Cesare. I Miracle Players, ormai parte integrante dell'estate capitolina, continuano con il loro apprezzatissimo stile burlesco a deliziare turisti e residenti rappresentando teatro comico di qualità.
