LIVELY ARTS NEWS
A recent article in our town’s newspaper by The Times-Picayune’s Theatre, writer, David Cuthbert, laments the hard-to-swallow truth that only a miniscule percent of the populace goes to theatre on a regular basis. Howbeit, the theater gods have come to the rescue!   A small step; yet, a significant one, in the right direction. The gods and muses have inspired the Stage’s mortal powers-to-be to enter the enemies Domain:
Theatre is growing on Television!
Now, in the privacy of your own home, under relaxed conditions, and often free, one can ‘attend’ a performance on the telly.
Here’s what’s coming to YOUR Screen soon:
SMOKEY JOE’S CAFÉ  - September 10th on pay-per-view $24.95. Get the clan over and have them chip in. See a Live Show!
Joey McKneely of Metairie La. (it bumps up against New Orleans) is the choreographer;  and Ms. B. J. Crosby of New Orleans belts out two songs: Hound Dog, and Fools Fall in Love.
THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER – October 7th – on PBS series “Stage on Screen”.
PETER PAN – October 8th – on A&E
THE RYAN INTERVIEW shown on PBS 8/25.  New Orleans native, Guy Mendes produced it!
